Bringing us back to the basics, static graphics are the foundation of everything we build. Perfecting layout, composition, and effects is the key to developing the perfect visuals for decks and social media alike.

Unique and inspired brand visuals are just the byproduct of immense care and passion for our organization and what we stand for. While we may have a number of modern tools at our disposal, it's important we remember that true design appeal comes from the heart (creativity is stored in the heart, right?). Inspired artists create inspired art, and if there's one thing that inspires me, it's our community and our boys!

I'm no stranger to the game changer that was LLMs and generative AI models introduced over recent years. Currently working as a Creative AI Consultant, I have come to appreciate the capabilities of such tools. However, I understand some creatives and businesses may have a hard line when it comes to its use. It's important to me that I am capable of standing on my own two feet creatively. Because of this, I always strive to challenge myself and solidify my foundation of design skills without the use of short cuts. The decision to incorporate the use of AI tools is entirely up to you, and regardless of your decision I hope to prove myself as a capable and hardworking designer and creative every day. Whether using traditional digital tools or artificial intelligence, I stand by my core belief that human artistry is paramount, and these tools should only be used in service of human creation, not in place of it.
UI mock ups were initially created in Adobe Illustrator to pinpoint the exact layout and design I wanted for this website. While all creative decisions and layouts were designed by hand (or more accurately, human brain/heart), the execution of this website was vibe coded using Google Gemini to develop chunks of code at a time and slowly add desired features over the course of multiple days.
When I first imagined this portfolio, I knew I wanted to create something similar to a standard Digideck interactive pitch deck. I, naturally, do not have Digideck, so I had to get a little creative. The UX of the deck was created using Gemini, allowing for even more customizability. The intro video was edited in Premiere using individual clips from publicly available assets (fancy talk for Behind the Storm). Images and motion graphics were designed using After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Although I have yet to use Digideck, learning new programs is my favorite hobby and I look forward to adding it to my collection!
The interactive 3D helmet display uses a model created by Andrey Novichkov via Sketchfab. The original texture of a Washington Capitals helmet (everybody go "boo"... just kidding), was replaced with our current First Citizens Bank sponsorship logo in Photoshop, and the texture swapped in Blender.
It's no lie, corporate partnerships play a huge role in any organization. Partners provide us with the finances and support to help us stay strong and continue to bring our community together.
